December Cause Cupcake – “sally ann”
December 9th, 2009
The Salvation Army helps provide direct, compassionate, hands-on service to more than 1.5 million people in Canada each year, restoring hope and dignity to the most vulnerable in society. The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Campaign has grown into one of Canada’s most significant and recognizable annual charitable events.
Founded in 1882, the Army’s goal was simple – to provide spiritual and practical support to society’s most vulnerable. Among various service innovations, The Salvation Army was instrumental, in its early years, in developing the first prisoner parole system and the first Juvenile Detention facility in Canada. The Army was also an early provider of shelter and service to women in crisis and served alongside the Canadian Armed Forces during the Great War and World War II.
For the month of December, Cupcakes is proudly donating a portion of the proceeds from every sally ann cause cupcake sold to help give hope today to the local communities in need. It is a chocolate cupcake finished with white buttercream and topped with a “Salvation Army” chocolate. This is an annual cause cupcake partnership with the Salvation Army Foundation.
The sally ann cause cupcake will be sold throughout the month of December at all Cupcakes Bakery locations. Please click on the “contact us” button to see a list of all of our Cupcakes bakery locations. Also, visit the Salvation Army website for more information on the foundation at www.salvationarmy.ca.
